Post 1: Cafe a la Boo Boo  ** Please forgive the missing pictures... will trouble shoot and re-post soon**

When we purchased our house, it was a wreck, to say the least.  We lucked out with an amazing property in a wonderful and safe neighborhood with equally as wonderful public school options.  While the Realtor showed us the house, he referred to this room as the "Florida Room".  My husband had visions of a second small living room for this space... But being surrounded by beautiful wooded areas... especially while living in a residential area of a city... I could not DREAM of letting the beauty go to waste with a TV as a distraction.  All I kept thinking was "this has GOT to be my designated homework room... I can use it... my husband can use it... and when we're done with school, our children will have a quiet and serene place with no TV/Games as a distraction to get their homework done.  Though we closed on our home in July 2010, it took until the first snowfall for my husband to come to the realization that I may have been on to something with this "Cafe" idea... I'm notorious for having to go out and about and plop myself at a pub table for hours at a time in order to finish my school work... so with that being the case, I found it only necessary to bring that piece of my "study environment" into our home.  So, here are the before and after pictures (The after was taken today (hence the place mats for Valentine's day).

Before (with previous owner's stuff... I couldn't imagine living this way):

After (our love seat is in the same spot as theirs was... our pub table is where the TV was...

Amazing what a little paint and a lot of decluttering can do to create a serene environment.

Post 2: The Boys' Bathroom

Well, at the risk of assigning "gender roles" to our son(s) early on, we have designated our "guest bathroom" as our "boys' bathroom".  Blue walls, gray cabinets, green and teal towels... and froggy accessories (Brand: Jumping Bean).  Nothing better than realizing all of the art and painting classes that you took when you were growing up did not prove to be fruitless... because you are able to eye colors and when you get home find that you were spot on with the color scheme that you believed you already had in your home (i.e. those teal towels we had before... the frog hooded towel as well... and the color was already on the wall from when we knew we'd have a boy to begin with when we moved).  The frame we had from Target and it happened to have the exact colors that complimented (and matched) the new curtain and accessories... So here's a couple shots of the boys' room!!  And to tie it in with the bathroom theme is a picture of an adorable baby (not biased) cheesin' in a bath towel...
